The independent journalist is the accredited communication professional who carries out his journalistic work without the subordination and influence of governments, institutions, or corporations.
Their voice is the guarantee of democracy and freedom in society. In addition, it exerts a positive impact on its environment; it builds, educates, fosters intellectual development, and serves as a valuable historical record.
True journalism is governed by the highest ethical standards and applies universal principles that mark the course of its daily work, among which stand out: truth, integrity, precision, impartiality, respect, humanity, and the tireless search for knowledge. In this way, the journalist ensures that he makes significant and far-reaching contributions to his audience and to society.
